What is C.H.A.R and how is it different to going through the program requirements?

C.H.A.R is a digital reference guide that walks the user through each and every step along the way to certification for Instructor, Competition Coach or Competition Coach Specialist, in Western and English disciplines. When you complete one requirement, go to the next chapter and work through it. Along the way you can submit lesson plans, Emergency Action plans, evaluation applications plus submit video for evaluation.

All of the forms, templates and help sheets can be accessed within C.H.A.R and are at your fingertips, no searching required. Links to information and sites like Coach.ca are all easily available.

Candidates can take a break on their pathway and then start again where they left off. Candidates that have some of the prerequisites completed can use C.H.A.R and move forward.

Document or video link a candidate uploads during their C.H.A.R. is sent directly into a spreadsheet that records their progress.

Do I have to use C.H.A.R.

While we hope that candidates like this service, no one is obligated to use it. We can still work with you to complete your certification the way we always have done.

What does this cost?

Using the C.H.A.R. digital guide is FREE for any HCBC member. Payment for evaluations is still required, the fee’s are laid out in the sections where you upload a evaluation requirement.

What happens after I register to use C.H.A.R?

Shortly after you register you will receive an email from [email protected] giving you your user name and password along with a link to the digital handbooks. You may chose from Instructor, Competition Coach or Competition Coach Specialist.  Now you can start the pathway to certification.
