FARM PROGRAMS

The BC Agricultural Council (BCAC) works with government to promote and advocate for the collective interests of all livestock and agricultural producers in BC. HCBC has a representative that sits on the BCAC board of directors to ensure equine issues remain part of the dialogue.

The Farmer ID Card* Value Program is administered by BCAC and is specifically designed to offer equine farmers and ranchers exclusive benefits. By becoming a member, you’ll receive access to valuable information and resources to improve your business, and great discounts on a variety of products and services to enhance your lifestyle. Plus, it’s an easy, convenient and approved form of proving your farmer status for tax benefit purposes. Start reaping the benefits today!

FARM STATUS

Classifying horse operations for farm status can sometimes be complex.  The BC Assessment  site will have information to help understand the process and rules regarding horse operations.

ENVIRONMENTAL FARM PLAN

If you have Farm Status you may be able to access  services and resources under the provincial Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) program. The EFP advisers are available to assist and offer guidance and support as well as help answer any questions you might have about your farm and environmental issues.
