To our valued members,

On Monday, April 27, 2020 the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, and BC Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, announced that both levels of government will be releasing information, within the coming days, about the gradual loosening of restrictions regarding the Covid19 measures currently in place.

As any new information is received which affects Horse Council members, the website link to that information will be posted on Horse Council’s website.

Staff at Horse Council continue to be in contact with a number of Provincial Government ministries, both collecting and providing information. Equestrian Canada is doing the same at the federal level.

Weekly virtual meetings are ongoing between Equestrian Canada and all the provincial/territorial sport organizations.

The gradual loosening of restrictions in BC will be controlled and determined by the Provincial Health Ministry, under Minister of Health Adrian Dix, and Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry.

Horse Council is not a regulatory body, and therefore cannot issue directives around the gradual resumption of activities in the equestrian community. We will continue to make every effort to share any relevant tools and the latest information in support of our members.

As together we all navigate our way towards a new normal, as per Dr. Bonnie Henry…”be kind, be calm and be safe”.

Sincerely,
