Horse Council first learned that Katie’s claim was denied on Friday from Facebook. We are touched by Katie’s story and it is important that the insurance program respond fairly for her. Horse Council has heard the outcry of members on Katie’s behalf and so want to share the actions we are committed to:

First, and most importantly we have been in touch and commit to stay in touch with Katie and Capri Insurance as her claim progresses;

Second, we will undertake a full review of our insurance program as soon as possible. We are committed to providing the best services to our members.

Third, we will continue to offer members free access either in person or by webinar to learn and ask questions about the insurance program that is included with HCBC membership.

Horse Council BC is a membership-driven not for profit working on behalf of BC’s equestrians;
We are governed by a volunteer board of directors elected by you the members;
Our strategic priorities are set by volunteers sent to represent our members;
We are part of your communities and exist to serve and support the BC equine community, and with your support we will continue to do so.

Our hearts go out to Katie and her family.
