ABOUT THE GRANT

Infrastructure and Equipment Grants are provincial funds targeted for purchases or projects that support sport growth and development. An approved project will be open to all qualified participants in your area, not just your club members. The equipment, or project, must support the goals of HCBC for developing sport within the province. Clubs are expected to charge participants reasonable registration fees.  Money will be released only after a financial report, receipts, and a purchase/project summary are received by HCBC.

The Infrastructure and Equipment Grant money should be used as “seed funding” to obtain additional funding from other granting agencies. A review committee appointed by HCBC will receive, review, and approve specific funding proposals.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Funding is available to clubs, branches, and affiliates who are members in good standing of HCBC.

Each Club, or branch, may only submit one application per year. An effort will be made to prioritize those organizations that have not received funding in the previous calendar year.

Clubs, branches, or affiliates MUST be members for at least 2 years prior to applying.

The group must show, via the budget sheet, that they have contributed financially to the project. CONTRIBUTIONS CAN BE EXISTING CLUB FUNDS, OTHER GRANTS, FUNDRAISING, DONATIONS OR OTHER SOURCES.  IN KIND DONATIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

Applications must be accompanied by supporting documents such as quotes for equipment purchase or facility upgrades and letters of support from property owners for facility upgrades. Long-term lease or use agreements must be in place  AND PROVIDED.

WHEN TO APPLY?

Applications for funding must be received in our office by April 30th. In the event that there are remaining funds not allocated, a second intake may be offered for June 30th. If available, this will be communicated to the membership.

HOW TO APPLY?

Fill out the application and send it, along with supporting documents, to the finance department of HCBC via email ([email protected]).
